Workboat aground off Ryøya

The "Borebas" with a crew of two people on board has run aground off the island Ryøya in Tromsø on Jan 5, 2016, at 5.16 p.m. The workboat started taking in water. The two fishing vessels "Hans R" and "Hermon" were nearby and came to assist as well as the lifeboat "Oscar Tybring IV". At 6 p.m. the lifeboat was on Scene and transferred a dewatering pump and an engineer aboard the casualty who tried to the water ingress under control. At 6.20 p.m. the coast guard cutter "Farm" arrived with more pump equipment and better equipment to stop the leakage. The lifeboat "Oscar Tybring- IV", left the scene at 9.30 p.m. after the situation was under control. The “Farm” escorted the “Borebas” which headed with own power to Skattøra in Tromsø where she berthed at 10.30 p.m. She had been only temporarily repaired, permanent repairs will take place in dry dock in Tromsøya.
