Thu Jun 29 18:47:37 CEST 2017 Timsen

Broughty Ferry RNLI volunteers were called out after the "Bonawentura" ran aground in the Tay on June 29, 2017. The alarm was raised just after 1.30 p.m.Both the all-weather and inshore lifeboats were dispatched after the Bonawentura came into shallow water near Tayport harbour. There were no reports of any injuries and crews were in the process of trying to free the 52ft-long vessel. By 3.10pm, both lifeboats had returned to their station. The ship departed from Ramsgate on the extreme south-east of the UK on June 26 prior to making its way up to the area.
