Cause of technical fault found
Since Nov 29, 2024, the 'Bogoy', serving the Brändö-Kumlinge route, has been out of operation due to a technical fault. On Jan 22, 2025, the provincial government received news that specialists from Norway have found the fault on the ship, which is docked in the shipyard in Loviisa, which turned out to be a problem with the propeller shaft. However, it is still unclear whether the ship can return to service before the end of the January. Since Dec 2, the 'Merituuli' has been used as a replacement ship, even though the ship does not meet the contract. However, it was intended as a temporary solution, but the provincial government is now considering other alternatives, with the 'Knipan' as first option.
