Carb cutter saved from bankruptcy

The "SU24 Birte" can set sail again. The insolvency of the small family business has been averted. Opus Marine GmbH, a company of the Zeitfracht Group, takes over the "Birte". At the beginning of Dece 2021, the Husum based crab fisherman André Eckholdt (38) filed for bankruptcy. The financial burdens from the operation of his shrimp cutter and the loan repayment for the ship he had only acquired in 2018 were too high. On Dec 15, 2021, the district court of Husum appointed the Hamburg restructuring expert Dr. Arno Doebert from the law firm Reimer. The transaction enabled Captain André Eckholdt to withdraw his bankruptcy application. At the same time, he and his deckhand received permanent employment contracts from the Opus Marine GmbH and can continue to run the family business unchanged.
