Barge grounded on the Elbe

On Sep 19, 2025, at 8.18 p.m. the 'Belleza', with two crew members on board and loaded with about 100 tons of scrap metal, ran aground in the Dradenau port, Waltershof, on the Elbe in Finkenwerder:and threatened to break apart. There was a water ingress in the engine room. The fire department and police were mobilized to thethe Aue main dike. The two tugs 'VB Resolut' and 'VB Spirit' manged to pull the sihp off again, while firefighters and police personnel on board provided security. The ship was subsequently able to continue sailing. The water police have taken over the investigation.
