Tanker assisted in rescue of yacht crew

Fri Nov 06 11:36:11 CET 2020 Timsen

On Nov 3, 2020, the Chilean Navy tanker ‘Almirante Montt‘ rescued the six crew members of a sailing yacht that capsized in the Bay of Panama. It had been informed by the ‘Bakken Lady‘, which was en route from La Pamilla to Balboa, and had seen them floating in the water. The castaways, including three minors, had been in the water for over two hours. They were taken on board by a RHIB that was immediately launched. Three people had suffered slight burns. All received medical care on board. Due to bad weather, they could only dropped off ashore and taken to hospital on Nov 4.
