Autostar notified Cross Corsen about drifting tank

Sat Jan 19 23:39:52 CET 2013 Timsen

On Jan 17, 2013, at 10 a.m. the "Autostar" reported a drifting six-metre-tank to the CROSS Corsen Armen lighthouse, Pointe du Raz. The NH90 helicopter based Lanvéoc repositions the tank at noon. The tug "Abeille Bourbon" sailed in the morning and recovered the tank at 3 p.m. south of Ushant. The tank was to be secured in a naval base as it was a hazard to Navigation.

Crew man died on board

Thu Nov 01 22:04:19 CET 2012 Timsen

On Nov 1, 2012, at 1:30 p.m. the "Autostar" alerted CROSS-Corsen after one of the crew suffered chest pain. The ship at that time was off Ouessant and in a distance of about 50 miles of Brest. A conference call between CROSS Corsen, the ship and the maritime medical consultation center (CCMM) in Toulouse was organized and the medical evacuation of the sailor determined. CROSS Corsen sent a Cayman helicopter of the Navy base Lanvéoc with a medical team of the health service of the armed forces on board to carry out the evacuation. The medical officer was hoisted onto the ship and found the man deceased. The ship sailed to Brest to land the body of the sailor.
