Asso Zejt found guilty in collision

Wed Dec 25 03:35:04 CET 2013 Timsen

The First Hall of the Civil Court in Malta in the case “Godwin Xerri on behalf of Pol-Euro Shipping Lines Plc SA and Sea Voyager Shipping Ltd vs Zejt Marine Services Ltd” on December 12, 2013, stated that the flag of the vessel although relevant, was not enough in this case to invoke the application of Maltese law. The Polish company Pol-Euro Shipping Lines plc SA was the owner of the "Sider Lipari" which was in collision with the "Asso Zejt 1" on July 18, 2012. The accident occurred due to the fault of the "Asso Zejt I" which hit the "Sider Lipari".
