76 migrants rescued off Calais

Wed Jan 15 11:03:28 CET 2025 Timsen

On the evening of Jan 13, 2025, the departure of a migrant boat was reported to the CROSS Gris-Nez off the coast of Calais, which in turn deployed the 'Armoise' of the maritime gendarmerie patrol boat to search for the boat. Once located, the boat was monitored by the 'Armoise', which reported that the boat suffered an engine failure during the crossing. The 'Armoise' then launched its operational drome boat (EDO) and picked up the migrants who requested assistance. Given the health of two migrants, the CROSS Gris-Nez set up a conference call with the Maritime Medical Coordination Samu in Le Havre and the 'Armoise'. The doctor recommended that the person be taken care of at the quay in Calais and called the Samu. After having recovered all the people from the boat, the 'Armoise' quickly reached Calais to drop off the 76 people who are taken care of by the shore-based emergency services.

Mon Jan 13 10:41:18 CET 2025 Timsen

On the night of Jan 10, 2025, the CROSS Gris-Nez reported the departure of a migrant boat off the coast of Ambleteuse and deployed the state chartered rescue ship 'Minck' to monitor the boat. The CROSS Gris-Nez also diverted the'Armoise ' of the maritime gendarmerie, a fishing vessel, whih was nearby, and a Dauphin public service helicopter of the French Navy to search for possible castaways at sea. The fishing vessel rescued nine more people who it then transferred aboard the 'Minck'. 26 more people were picked up by the crew of the 'Minck'. All 35 rescued people were then transferred to the 'Armoise' and taken to Boulogne-sur-Mer, where the castaways were taken care of by the land rescue services and the border police. One teenager was taken to the Boulogne-sur-Mer hospital in a stable condition.

39 migrants rescued

Mon Nov 04 11:46:41 CET 2024 Timsen

On the morning of Nov 2, a migrant boat departure was reported by the P-68 Action Air Environnement police plane at the CROSS Gris in the Sangatte sector, which then deployed the 'ESMP 03' of the Calais maritime gendarmerie to search for the boat. Once relocated, the boat was monitored by the 'ESMP 03' , which reported that the occupants of the boat did not require assistance. At the same time, the CROSS engaged the 'Armoise' to take over from the ESMP 03. Shortly after arriving in the area, the patrol boat reported that the migrant boat had been stopped and that some occupants were requesting assistance. The 'Armoise' then launched its EDO and transferred the 39 people on board who had requested assistance. while the other people still on board the boat refused the assistance offered by the French resources. Subsequently, the CROSS Gris-Nez engaged the PSP 'Cormoran' to monitor the occupants remaining on board the boat and thus allow the 'Armoise' to quickly reach the port of Boulogne-sur-Mer o drop off the people recovered. The rest of the occupants were finally recovered by British resources.
