Odense Canal blocked by grounding

Tue Nov 21 18:40:14 CET 2017 Timsen

The "Arklow Valour" ran aground in the Odense Canal on Nov 21, 2017, at 4.15 a.m. and blocked it for other ship traffic. The brand new ship had come from Rotterdam to load a cargo of sand and got stuck at the Odins Bridge on sandy bottom. It drifted perpendicular to the fairway, thus barring it. At 10.45 the ship was refloated and berthed in Odense at 11 a.m. It docked at the Severnaya Verf Shipyard in St. Petersburg on Nov 26 at 4.30 p.m. She left the yard on Nov 28 after repairs at 5.30 p.m. bound for Sevilla, ETA Dec 8.
