Collision in Piraeus

On Nov 11, 2019, at noon the 'Aargau' had a slight collision with the 'Aqua Solutuon' (IMO: 6918560) in Piraeus where she was berthed since Nov 7, coming from Belfast. No casualties and no marine pollution were reported from the incident. The relevant Port Authority in Piraeus, which conducted the preliminary investigation, banned the ships from sailing until the presentation of a seaworthiness certificate.

Bulkcarrier diverted to Bermuda for medevac of master

The "Aargau" diverted to Bermuda in the evening of Feb 2, 2015, to disembark the captain who had sustained injuries after a fall. A satellite call was received at 4.30 a.m. reporting the ship’s captain, a 51 year old Croatian man, had sustained a broken arm and back injuries after a fall. The ship was 175 miles away from Bermuda. The pilot boat "St David" rendezvoused with the ship at approximately 8.35 p.m off the east end of the island where crew members transferred and transported the injured man to Ordnance Island where an awaiting ambulance transported him to hospital afer the "St David" arrived in St George’s at 9.20 p.m. The bulker was on its way from Lake Charles to Foynes in the Republic of Ireland.
