Allision in Kaoshiung

Fri Jul 07 09:37:15 CEST 2017 Timsen

The "APL Jeddah" lost power on July 7, 2017, at 06.30 a.m. while leaving Kaohsiung Port bound to Osaka with a pilot on board. The vessel struck the pier No.58, causing serious damages both to the quay wall and the ship's bulbous nose. The ship was taken back to berth for investigations and damage surveys. Divers were sent down to inspect the bow region. The nearby petrochemical wharf did not suffer damage to its gas pipeline.
