Tanker played key role in rescue of 73 migrants
The 'Nestos' en route from Ust-Luga to Panjung Pelepas, played a key role in the SAR operation of a migrant boat in distress on Nov 29, 2024, in coordination with the Greek Coast Guard. The tanker responded immediately to the call from the Greek authorities. Thanks to the effective performance of the crew, 73 survivors were successfully rescued, who received comprehensive care on board, including medical assistance, food, water and shelter. The Maritime Authority of Panama (AMP) congratulated the crew of the 'Nestos' for their heroism and humanity in this operation. Likewise, it reiteratedits commitment to compliance with international and national maritime regulations, ensuring human life in navigation and the protection of the marine environment.
