No clue regarding sudden sinking

Thu Dec 10 13:09:26 CET 2015 Timsen

After the "Angelika" was taken to Delfzijl, the investigations regarding the sinking have commenced at a local yard. The damage was estimated to be some 10000 Euro. The owner Carsten Willems was at the helm when the ship suddenly tilted to port side and capsized within seconds. While the master managed to escape from the wheelhouse, the 50 year old deckhand was on the deck in order to recover the net. The possible repair of the ship is also dependent outcome of the investigations regarding the accident. On Nov 25 the "Searider" of Ubels Offshore returned to the "Angelika" ffor inspections during low water. A life raft which was still attached to the wreck had inflated at the sinking site. The "Norden" laid out a wreck buoy. On Nov 24 at 10 p.m. the "Watergeus" assisted by the "Searider" had tried to take the wreck in tow. At 10.25 p.m. the "Watergeus" had started to pull the "Angelika" towards Eemshaven with a speed of 0,4 knots at the outer side of the fairway. Winds on scene were 7 Beaufort from SW.
