Vehicles carrier on fire

The 'Angara', loaded with 570 second-hand cars, caught fire in the afternoon of June 25, 2022, in the Japan Sea about 55 nautical miles north of Toyama, Honshu, in vicinity 37 35 00 N, 136 44 00 E. The fire was believed to have ignited in a car on the vehicle cargo deck.The vessel was loaded with second-hand cars and had left Fushikitoyama in the afternoon of June 24, bound for Vladivostok. All 25 Russian crew members abandoned the burning vessel. No injuries or casualties were reported. The Coast Guard deployed ships for firefighting.
