Sailor died in fall on board

30 nautical miles off the Indian coasta 37-year-old Chinese crew member of the "Vivican Ocean" died in a fall offVizhinjam on Jan 25, 2018. The police escorted the vessel to the Kochi port for a detailed forensic examination. The 21-member crew of the ship was all Chinese. An Indian Coast Guard (ICG) vessel had evacuated the victim from the ship following a call from the Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre, Port Blair. The motorman appeared to have slipped and fallen while using a utility hatch to access the critical mechanical area of the vessel rapidly.
