Fishing vessel grounded in Varanger Fjord

Mon Feb 06 10:31:44 CET 2017 Timsen

In the evening of Feb 5, 2017, the "Andrea" sent out a distress call after having run aground on a reef off Bugøynes in the Varanger Fjord. The wellboat "Robris" was nearby and assisted the crew of two after 15-20 minutes with an MOB boat. The fishermen had already put on survival suits and gone aboard a raft. The grounded fishing vessel could be refloated jointly with the "Dansken" which responded along with the "Robris". The "Andrea" did not suffer major damage apart from some scratches and was expected to be sailing again on Jan 6. The grounding was thought to have occurred due to human error.
