Water ingress on tank barge in Duurstede

On the Amsterdam-Rhine Canal near Wijk close to Duurstede the 'Amioci' sprang a leak on Sep 25, 2025, at noon. The ship was slowly taking on water. The fire department has been alerted, as has Rijkswaterstaat. The exact extent of the leak was not yet entirely clear. The ship is loaded with manure, which was most likely not dangerous. The fire department was working with Rijkswaterstaat, which eployed the 'RWS 85' to the scene, to develop a plan to seal the leak. Firefighters boarded the ship after receiving the report at 12:00 p.m., but found no skipper there. He has been called and was on his way.
