Man fell from ship and drowned

On the Thool side of the Krammer Lock between Bruinisse and Sint Philipsland, a deckhand of the "Ventana" accidently fell into the water on Dec 21, 2018, at 1 p.m. due to unknown reasons. The fire brigade responded with large equipment. Diving teams from Goes and Tholenwere were called to search for the victim. They were dropped into the water with the aid of a crane from the fire department. Around 2.30 p.m. the divers found the body of the deceased and recovered him. The police investigated the cause of the accident. Engine room caught fire during maintenance

In the morning of June 28, 2013, a fire broke out in the engine room of the "Mira Anvema" at the Brouwer Yard in Zaandam during works on board. Insulation had been set alight. At 9.45 a.m. the fire brigade was called to the ship which had docked at the yard for some overhauls on June 27. A fire boat and three fire engines rushed to the ship and brought the fire under control within short time. The damage was limited to the engine room and a part of the cabins.
