PIL takes over Mariana Express Lines

Wed Mar 25 11:33:32 CET 2015 arnekiel

Pacific International Lines (PIL) along with Luen Thai Group has bought out fellow Singapore-headquartered containerline Mariana Express Lines for an undisclosed sum. PIL becomes Mariana’s majority shareholder following the deal concluded this month. The Mariana brand will continue. PIL has other subsidiary lines, Pacific Direct Lines and Advanced Container Lines operating container services in the Southern Pacific Islands and feeder services in Southeast Asia and the Indian subcontinent respectively. Mariana, founded in 1997, focuses on niche routes in Asia, with a strong focus on the Pacific Islands. It also has its own agency division, Mariana Shipping. Source splah 24/7
