Medevac off Otterndorf

A crew member of the 'Al Dana I' in urgent need of medical care was medevaced by the lifeboat 'Anneliese Kramer' of the DGzRS station Cuxhaven in the late evening of Jan 2, 2020, in the Elbe estuary north of Neufeld Roads at the height of Ottendorf where it was carrying out underwater works in an exclusion zone. The lifeboat was alerted at 7.30 .m. and guided by an offsshore service ship through the zone to take the patient off. It went alongside and took over the man, assisted by an emergency team of the fire brigade Cuxhaven. The man was stabilized on board his ship by a doctor and further treated aboard the lifeboat on its way to Cuxhaven, where he was taken to hospital.
