Fri May 05 10:22:35 CEST 2023 Timsen

The 'Alborán Champagne' suffered a broken rudder and a leak after the interaction with orcas off Barbate on May 4, 2023. The SAR boat 'Salvamar Enif' was tasked to assist and rescued the four crew members, who were transferred to the port of Barbate. The CCS Tarifa of Salvamento Marítimo also mobilized the SAR helicopter Helimer 222. The 'Salvamar Enif' tried to control the water ingress, but at 5:50 p.m. the sailboat sank.
