Medevac in Svendborg

On Nov 21, 2022, at 6.09 p.m. the Danish Defense received a report that a person had been injured on the 'Ærøskøbing' en route from Ærøskøbing to Svenborg. After the ferry docked in Svenborg, the patient was picked up by an ambulance.

Hard landing of ferry

In the morning of July 21, 2015, the "Ærøskøbing" had a hard landing on Ærø on its way from Svendborg via Fyn to Ærøskøbing, and sailed into the quay. She suffered a crack in the side of the hull and therefore was sidelined for repairs. The reason was still unclear.

Woman went into birth on board

In the morning of Apr 21, 2015, a pregnant woman unexpectedly went into birth while she was on board the "Ærøskøbing" heading for Svendborg. The crew quickly helped the woman to a secluded area on the ferry, while help was requested via radio. Upon arrival at Svendborg an ambulance and a midwife were ready on the quay, and the midwife prepared the woman before she was transported ashore. But the woman gave birth not board the ferry. Both mother and child were reported in good condition.
