25 passengers on board the "Aegean Cat" were injured when it allided with the jetty at Kos on Sep 15, 2010, at 11.20 a.m. The catamaran was coming from the Turkish resort of Didim with 209 passengers, most of them from the UK, and six crew members. Five passengers were seriously injured, some sufferd broken bones, others were hurt by splintering glass, and 20 sustained minor injuries. The "Aegean Cat" had been chartered by a holiday company. It may have suffered a mechanical failure, and crashed twice into the jetty. After one attempt to dock, it returned with greater force and crashed into the dock for a second time.
