On Jan 19, 2025, at 2.30 a.m. there was an emergency of a passenger who was experiencing chest pain aboard the 'Rafaelle Rubattino', when the ship was sailing 40 miles from Ustica, heading for Palermo from Naples. A nurse and a doctor Liliana boarded the ferry with a launch of the Coast Guard. The man was taken from the ship and brought aboard the launch, where an electrocardiogram was performed. After being disembarked in Palermo, the patient was transferred by ambulance to the Buccheri La Ferla. The patient was able to move. The suspicion of a heart attack, after the electrocardiogram, was ruled out.

On the afternoon of Jan 20, 2025, the Port Authority of Chania was informed about a sufficient number of migrants on a beach northwest of Gavdos. Officers of the Port Authority of Gavdos went to the scene where they located 27 people.On the morning of Jan 21, 21 more were identified. The total of 48 people were transferred to a shelter in the municipality of Gavdos, all in good health. Subsequently, they were taken aboard the 'Samaria I', which transferred them to the port of Chora Sfakion and then to a shelter in Agia Chania. A preliminary investigation was conducted by the Central Port Authority of Chania.
BALTIC SUMMER
The 'Baltic Summer' has been inspected in the port of Vigo after its arrival on Jan 21, 2025, for suspected drugs by agents from the Central Operative Unit of the Civil Guard . Sources from the Armed Institute confirmed that it was an operation that did not take Pontevedra, but Madrid, and that it is linked to drug trafficking. The "Baltic Summer" was esscorted to the port of Vigo for operational purposes without initially having any relation to the city, where it had not planned to stop en route from Guayaquil, making a stopover in St. Petersburg. AZURA
On Jan 21, 2025, the 'Azura', en route from Las Palmas to Santa Cruz, requested the medical evacuation of a passenger 15 nautical miles east of Gran Canaria, while transiting the Traffic Separation System. The SAR helicopter Helimer 202 was mobilized by Salvamento Marítimo and hoisted the patient. He was then transferred to the helipad of the Dr. Negrín Hospital in Las Palmas for medical care on a higher level.
