Detention in Ravenna
The "Vusal Maharramov" was detained in Ravenna on May 19, 2025:, as the reusult of a PSC with 26 deficiencies, eight of which being regarded as seriously and grounds for a detention: 1) Certificate & Doc - Manning specified by the minimum safe manning doc Not as required 2) Certificate & Doc - Shipboard working arrangements Not as required 3) Certificate & Doc - Unattended Machinery Spaces (UMS) evidence Missing 4) Fire safety - Fire pump and its pipes Missing 5) Labour conditions - Hospital accomodation (Sickbay) Not as required 6) Labour conditions - Provisions quantity Insufficient 7) Life saving Appliances - Inflatable liferafts Insufficient 8)) ISM - Ism certificate Not as required The vessel was released again on May 23 and left the port en route to Istanbul with an ETA as of May 29. https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100063576908591
Fundraising for stranded crew
For the 13 crew member of the 'Zeinabaldyn Tagiyev' which has been stationary since June 12 at the port of Venice after being seized by the Court of Venice to the bankruptcy of the shipowner, the Turkish company Palmali Deniz Cilik, the port authority has started a fundraising. After two months, the crew has run out of supplies and now risked having to stop the engines. The Port Authority has sent a letter to the Venetian port community to start fundraising for the crew. The 13 crew members, all from Azerbaijan, were showing physical and psychological discomfort due to the long stay at sea and the lack of communications, but the situation could even worsen due to the lack of food and fuel.
Engine failure off Istanbul Strait
Enroute from Istanbul to Kherson the "Zeynalabdin Tagiyev" suffered an engine failure at the northern entrance of the Istanbul Strait on April 25, 2019, at 8 p.m. The Coastal Safety tug "Kurtarma 8" was appointed to tow the vessel to the first convenient anchorage place. The vessel was pulled to the Turkeli anchorage. The Istanbul Strait passage permission has been temporarily cancelled until the completion of permanent repairs. On April 26 it remained moored in pos. 41° 16.22' N 029° 2.58' E.
