Grounding on the Don
The "Volgo-Don 5038", while sailing on the River Don, ran aground near the port of Azov on Aug 18, 2019, at 08.40 a.m. The vessel carrying a cargo of wheat, was being assisted by a port tug. The ship refloated independently and continued its voyage from Rostov to Kavkaz with an ETA as of Aug 19, 2 p.m.
Cargo ship hard aground
After the anchor dragged because of strong currents, the "Volgo Don 5038" drifted aground at the anchorage on the river Don on May 5, 2018, at 1.36 p.m. The ship, loaded with 4804 tons of wheat, was en route from Bogaevskoye in theRussian Inner Waterways to Kavkaz in the Kerch Strait. The freighter was hard aground and was expected to be lightered before being refloated. After partial unloading of the cargo of wheat the ship sailed from Rostov on May 13.
