Double trouble in Vigo

The "Ventura" remained has at Vigo due to an engine fault, which occurred on its voyage from Aveiro to Szczecin, since Jan 20, 2019. The vessel attempted to sail again on Jan 27, but again encountered engine problems and required assistance of the salvage tug "Maria Pita" and berthed at 3.55 p.m.

Cargo ship suffered suffered a broken exhaust manifold gasket

The "Ventura" en route from Waterford, suffered a broken exhaust manifold gasket in position 49 08 28.8 N, 06 21 54 W, on Oct 16, 2018, at 06.40 a.m. Multiple attempts to contact the vessel which was NUC by the Falmouth Coastguard failed. The "Ventura" finally made contact with CGOC Falmouth at 08.55 a.m. and reported the problem. The vessel was back underway at 09.30 a.m.and proceeding to Penzance to pick up spare parts and an engineer.

Collision off Cape Kaliakra

The “Lady Gul” being enroute from Istanbul to Constanta, was in collision with the Comores-flagged cargo m/v “St. Catrien” (IMO:7928770), on its way from Constanta to Samsun, nine miles south of Cape Kaliakra Cape in Northeastern Bulgaria in the night of Mar 8, 2013. Both ships were damaged and proceeded to Varna anchorage where they were to undergo more inspections. No injuries, no spills reported. The Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications launched an investigation into the cause of the collision and was in contact with the Maritime Rescue Center in this regard.
