Tanker cut off anchor chain
At the Belfeld lock the "Spido II“, 430 ts (ENI-No.: 02307298) suffered engine failure in the evening of Jan 8, 2012, and had to anchor. Due to the pressure of the Maas current the anchor could not be lifted again, and the ship was stuck. Rijkswaterstaat, sent the "RWS 18“ which pulled alongside, and divers cut off the anchor. Two other ships then towed the casualty to a nearby pier.
