Trawler grounded near Fedje
On Jan 24, 2018, at 4.46 a.m. the "Slettholmen" ran aground near Fedje between Rognsneset and Flundrevågen on the north-eastern side of the island. The trawler managed to refloat with own power but afterwards needed assistance because it had a problem with the engine. The lifeboat "Kristian Gerhard Jebsen II" and the pilot boat from Fedje were tasked to assist and towed the trawler southwards into the Hjelte Fjord at 7 a.m. after an inspection to ensure it did not take on water. The crew was safe on board, and the "Slettholmen" was towed to Ågotnes where the hull was to be surveyed by divers.
