Menorquina towed to Palamós
The 7,5--m-Menorquina 'Aluna' with two crew members and a dog on board suffered a rudder failure off Sa Tuna (Girona) on Aug 16 amid strong north wind and a high swell. The CCS Barcelona of Salvamento Marítimo mobilized the 'Salvamar Sirius', which took it in tow and safely pulledit to Palamós. Fishing vessel towed to Palamós
On Aug 9, the Spanish flagged fishing vessel 'El Sopalmero' with one crew member on board went adrift due to an engine failure one nautical mile east of Palamós. The CCS Barcelona of Salvamento Marítimo mobilized the 'Salvamar Sirius' to assist, which took the ship in tow and safely pulled it to Palamós, where it was safely moored.
Assistance to leaking yacht
On Aug 7 the MRCC Lagarde reported to the CNCS the Swiss 12 m-sailing yacht *Papou'' with two crew members, which had suffered a leak after hitting a rock near Aiguablava. Bailing out the water proved to be difficult with the boat's own motor pump. The CCS Barcelona of Salvamento Marítimo mobilized the 'Salvamar Sirius', which assisted in pumping out the water and then towed the yacht to the travelift in the Marina Palamós in collaboration with the Aiguablava boatmen.
