87 migrants assisted off La Restinga
On the morning of Sep 15 the crew of the 'Salvamar Menkalinan' has accompanied a cayuco which was located one nautical mile south of La Restinga with 87 sub-Saharan people on board, among them two women and two minors. The CCS Tenerife of Salvamento Marítimo has coordinated the operation. At 3:54 a.m. the disembarkation took place at the dock of La Restinga.
52 migrants rescued from sinking cayouco
On May 8, 2024, a cayuco issued a distress call by mobil telephone south of Tenerife. It was located by a whale watching boat. The CCS Tenerife of Salvamento Marítimo mobilized the 'Salvamar Menkalinan' and the 'Salvamar Alpheratz', which rescued the 52 people on board and transferred them to Los Cristianos. 79 migrants rescued in two missions
On Jan 26 the 'Salvamar Menkalinan' rescued 42 sub-Saharan people from a canoe eight nautical miles west of Los Cristianos. They were transferred to Playa San Juan. The 'Salvamar Alpheratz' located and accompanied a canoe with 37 sub-Saharan migrants on board to the port of Los Cristianos. The resonses were coordinated by the CCS Tenerife of Salvamento Marítimo.
