New reserve ferry available in May
The Operations Manager Anders Tøsse of Torghatten Nord met with the Transport Committee on March 12 regarding the operations on the Brattvåg–Dryna and acknowledged that there have been far too many cancellations with the reserve ferries on the service. From May the ferry 'Fykan' will be used as a reserve ferry on the service instead of the 'Røsund'. The vessel will provide more predictable operation together with the main ferry 'Haram'. The reserve ferry has mainly weakened the regularity of the connection. In 2023, the regularity was 98.9 % , in 2024 it was 99.0 %. In 2025, there have been many cancellations, most of them as a result of problems with the reserve vessel.
Ferry suffered technical issue
On the morning of Feb 4, the ferry company Torghatten reported that there were again technical problems with the 'Røsund', sailing between Dryna and Brattvåg. The scheduled departure at 06.55 a.m. from Brattvåg was the first to be postponed due to the problems, with delay on the departures at 07:25 a.m. from Dryna, and 07:55 a.m. from Brattvåg.
Ferry suffered oil leakage
On the morning of Feb 24, the operator Fram announced that the sailings of the 'Røsund' on the Brattvåg-Dryna route had to be cancelled due to a technical fault, starting with the scheduled departure at 12.25 p.m. The reason of the problems was an oil leak. The ship remained sidelined in Brattvåg for repairs. It returned to service again at 1.55 p.m. The "Røsund" has been operating on the route since the "Haram" had run aground on Feb 9.
