Rönnebeck back in service
After the surveys by German Lloyd were completed and found the ferry fully intact high and dry on the ferry ramp, the „Rönnebeck“ refloated on Feb 7 at noon and proceeded to the other Weser shore with own power. Here it freed the ramp at Blumenthal from ice flows and entered regular service at 12.30 p.m. again. Grounding on ramp
The Motzen-Blumenthal-ferry "Rönnebeck" got stuck the ferry ramp at Motzen in the morning of Feb 7, 2012. Ice flows had surrounded the ship during the night so that it was unable to sail at 4.10 a.m. The ferry "Juliusplate“ was called for assistance, but when it was on scene at 4.45 a.m., the water had fallen too much to dislodge the "Rönnebeck“. Only after the tide had risen, the ship was refloated and inspected by German Lloyd at 10 a.m. German reports with photos: http://forum-schiff.de/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=23#p71397 http://www.nwzonline.de/Region/Kreis/Wesermarsch/Berne/Artikel/2796778/F%E4hre-liegt-auf-dem-Trockenen.html
