Luxury yacht aground off Lefkada
In the morning of June 25, 2014, the "My Rève d'Or" ran aground at the beach off Lefkada with a crew of 11. The master informed the Port Authority accordingly. The yacht had come from Corfu with a 6-member crew and five passengers. The yacht had on board 33,000 liters of diesel fuel and 1,700 liters of lubricants. A diver inspected the hull before a tug was called which in vain tried to pull the ship off. The master hired a private company to work for measures to protect the marine environment. Oil booms were laid out around the ship and the "Sabatis M" put on standby. On June 26 draining of fuel was started with the first light of day. 25 before the yacht was refloated with the help of two tugs from Patras and moored at the pier at the entrance of Levkas port.
