Ramnfjord lifted off reef

In the night of Aug 29 the "Ramnfjord" was removed from the Haka Reef off Hustadvika where the vessel went aground in April and suffered severe damage. The salvage company Bukser og Berging had been contracted to remove the wreck which was still partially afloat. The ship was lifted by the sheerleg "Mammut Krana III" which had arrived at the grounding site on Aug 25. The stern was lifted off the rocks hanging in a heavy chain at 9 p.m. on Aug 28, and at 11.20 p.m. the ship was floating again. While sheerleg with its lifting capacity of 150 tons was stabilizing the stern which also had suffered most damage, the foreship was kept afloat by a floating collar and buoyancy improved with empty tanks inside. The wreck was next transported to the Boat and Fish Farming Service in Averøya by the tug "BB Coaster" to be prepared for its last voyage to breakers in Stokksund in South Trøndelag. Also involved in the diver catamaran "Fosna" and the "Max Mammut". Wreck removal due to start

The salvage company Buksér og Berging has been contracted to remove the wreck of the "Ramnfjord" which has been on the Hakaskjæret at Hustadvika since it ran aground on Apr 12. The company has previously been involved in clearing the casualty for diesel and machine oil, and was to start wreck removal on Aug 14. Ramnfjord suffered extensive damage

The "Ramnfjord", which sank off the Averøy has suffered very extensive damage. The engine room is filled with water. The ship also has suffered extensive damage in the rear. One of the fuel tanks on the starboard side is cracked, the factory and cargo holds are filled with water. The aft moves up and down in the swell, and a rcok juts into the engine room.
