Engine failure off Piraeus
On Oct 30, 2022, at midday, the Central Port Authority of Piraeus was informed by the master of the 'Poseidon Hellas' about a failure of the starboard side main engine, while sailing towards the port of Piraeus on a scheduled route from the ports of Agistrio and Aegina to the port of Piraeus. It sailed under its own power to the port, safely disembarking 380 passengers. The Port Authority prohibited the sailing of the ship until the repair of the damage and the presentation of a certificate of class maintenance by the monitoring classification society.
Engine damage in Piraeus
The Central Port Authority of Piraeus was informed in the evening of April 20, 2022 about a mechanical damage of the starboard side main engine of the 'Poseiden Hellas' which had arrived from Aegina at 3.50 p.m. The Port Authority banned the ship from sailing until the repair of the damage and the presentation of a certificate of class maintenance by the classification society that monitors it. The ship remained stationary in Piraeus as of April 22.
Engine trouble in Piraeus
The Port Authority of Piraeus was informed in the morning of Feb 13, 2021, by the Captain of the 'Poseidon Hellas' that the ship had suffered a damage to the starboard side main engine enroute to the port of Aegina in the Saronic Gulf. Th ship was banned from sailing in Piraeus until the repair of the damage and the presentation of a certificate of seaworthiness by the classification society that monitors the ferry. The 81 passengers, 21 cars, six trucks and six two-wheelers were transported to their destination by the 'Agios Necatrios Aeginas'.
