Grounding off Wangerooge
In the night of June 10, 2018, the "Poseidon - HAR 7", 22 gt, ran aground off Wangerooge. Blustery northern winds pushed the ship which had previously suffered an engine failure after the propeller was fouled by a net, onto a sand bar. The crew of two radioed a mayday call. The volunteer fire rescue assisted to cut free the propeller and fetched a spare part for the engine. With the rising tide the daughter boat "Johann Fidi" of the lifeboat "Bernhard Gruben" of the DGzRS station Hooksiel established a towing connection and managed to pull the ship off. It safely berthed in Harlesiel at 10.20 a.m. on June 11.
