La Méridionale to acquire LIVERPOOL SEAWAYS from DFDS
DFDS has entered into an agreement with La Méridionale to sell its 1997-built Visentini Class LIVERPOOL SEAWAYS. Currently serving the single-ship daily Kapellskär-Paldiski route, the 2,200-lanemetre/100-car and 270-passenger capacity ro-pax is expected to be handed over to her new French owners in April 2020.
Ferry sold to La Meridionale
DFDS has entered into an agreement to sell the "Liverpool Seaways" to the French shipping company La Meridionale. The ferry will be delivered to the new owner in April 2020. The "Liverpool Seaways" is currently employed in DFDS 'Baltic route network and is scheduled to be replaced by a ferry from DFDS' existing fleet. The closing of the sale has been agreed until April 2020 with a sale price of about DKK 200 million and an expected accounting gain of around DKK 100 million.
Repairs of allision damage completed
On Sep 7 the "Liverpool Seaways" entered the drydock 139 in Klaipeda for repairs of hull damage suffered in the allision in Kapellskär which have been finished already on Sep 8 at 9.30 p.m., so that the ferry returned to Paldiski on Sep 9 at 7.30 p.m. and resumed its service to Kapellskär at 11 p.m. with a first call there on Sep 10 at 10 a.m.
