Fishing vessel towed to Mahón
The 'Nueva Joven Josefina' with four crew members on board, was disabled after it entangled its nets in its propeller in vicinity o 39 46 00 N, 004 20 00 E, about 17 nautical miles south of Mahón, Menorca, on March 31, 2023, at around 1.45 p.m. UTC. The crew requested assistance, and the CCS Palma of Salvamento Marítimo mobilized the SAR boat 'Salvamar Antares', which took the vessel in tow and pulled it to the port of Mahón.
Fishing vessel got fouled propeller
The SAR vessel 'Salvamar Antares' of Salvamento Marítimo was tasked to assist the 'Nueva Joven Josefina' which was drifting 12 miles from the Illa de l'Aire in Sant Lluís on May 17, 2022. A rope had fouled the ship's propeller. The fishing boat has finally been able to return to the port of Maó with own engine.
