Barents Rescue lifted sunken salmon farm boat near Alta
On July 9 at 2 p.m. the "Barents Rescue" lifted the wreck of the 10-m-workboat "Maria" within 2,5 houurs from the bottom of the Great Kufjord where the ship had sunk on July 3 north of Alta, killing two. The boat of a salmon farm had tried to take aboard a rubber raft which had got in difficulties. Thereby it capsized and sank. Six persons were saved. In the night of July 10 the wreck of the "Maria" was taken to the Grovfjord Mekaniske Verksted east of Harstad in Troms which had delivered the ship only in January.
