Blacklisted tanker with Russian crude diverted to Vadinar

The 'Noble Walker', carrying Russian oil, has changed course to Vadinar port after the country's Adani Group banned entry of blacklisted ships at its Mundra port on Sep 12, 2025. The 'Noble Walker', carrying about a million barrels of Russian crude for the Indian refiner HPCL Mittal Energy Ltd, was headed to Mundra until Sep 12. The vessel has been blacklisted by the European Union and Britain for breaching sanctions in transporting Russian oil and is owned by the Mancera Shipping. Last week, Adani issued orders barring entry of vessels that are sanctioned by the EU, Britain and the United States at its 14 ports including Mundra in western India. Indian refiners HMEL and Indian Oil Corp use the port for oil imports, including from Russia. The 'Noble Walker' arrived in Vadinar on Sep 23 and sailed again towards the Gulf of Kutch on Sep 24, destined to Suez with an ETA as of Oct 7. Another sanctioned tanker, the 'Spartan' (IMO: 9421972), which was carrying one million barrels of Russian crude, was anchored near Mundra on Sep 14 and was scheduled to discharge its cargo. The ship sailed agaoin on Sep 16, next headed to Suez, where it arrived on Sep 25.

Tanker detained for unpaid wages

On March 6, 2025, the 'Sagar Violet' has been detained in Nakhodka due to three months of debts and of shortages of food on the vessel. The tanker called at the port of Kozmino (Nakhodka) on March 5, en rouite from Sikka. According to the crew, their wages have not been paid since Dec 2024. The amount of debts to some workers exceeded 154.900 euros. The Nakhodka Transport Prosecutor's Office has organized an inspection of the ship, which belongs to Lagosmarine Ltd and flies the convenicence flag of Palau. It should be noted that along with Sagar Violet, another tanker, the 'Caroline Bezengi', was also subjected too for delayed wages for crew members . However, the debts to the crew were paid in full at the end of February after the intervention of the Russian Seafarers' Union (RSUM) . They had amounted to 179.000 euros. The money has already been delivered on board and distributed among the crew. The sailors who signed off have received a full payment for three months. Already in October 2024, the Togo flagged m/v 'Winner' was detained in the port of Nakhodka. The amount of unpaid fees had exceeded $20,000.
