Bunker tanker suffered engine failure
On the night of Jan 7, 2025, the 'Nil' suffered an engine failure during a fuel operation off the coast of Yenikapıur, Istanbul. A pilot along with the tugs 'Kurtarma 6' (IMO: 9463176) and 'Mehmetçik' ((IMO: 9816268)) as well as the life boat 'Kegm 3' were deployed to the incident site by Coastal Safety and took the ship in tow. It was safely docked at Zeytinburnu at 8.40 p.m. UTC. No injuries nor spills were reported.
