Boarding attempt thwarted
On April 19, 2019, at 05.35 a.m. a boat with around eight to 10 persons on board approached the "NYK Lyra" and attempted to board via the rigged pilot ladder in position 03:47.6 N 077:14.3 W in the Buenaventura Channel, Colombia. The duty lookout noticed the boat and raised the alarm. The crew mustered near the pilot ladder resulting in the boat aborting the attempt and moving away. The pilot notified the Coastguard, and a patrol boat was dispatched to investigate. The "NYK Lyra" berthed in Balboa on April 20 at 7.50 p.m.
