Ship with explosives for Israel denied port entry in Cartagena

The Spanish Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albares has confirmed reports that the 'Marianne Danica', which was carrying a cargo of arms to Israel, and had requested permission to call at the port at Cartagena on May 21, 2024, got the request denied on May 16. The purpose of the traffickers was to transport the 84 people, who lacked travel documents, from the Turkish coast to Italy for the amount of €8,000 - €9,000 per person, while exposing their lives to immediate danger. A World Food Programme (WFP) chartered vessel, Marianne Danica, carrying life-saving food, medical supplies, doctors and other relief items has finally been able to reach Misrata port, opening up a new humanitarian lifeline to civilians trapped in the Libyan conflict. The ship docked yesterday in Misrata carrying more than 600 metric tons of WFP food including wheat flour, vegetable oil and High Energy Biscuits - enough to feed more than 40,000 people for a month. The ship is also delivering medical supplies on behalf of UNICEF and the World Health Organization (WHO). Two doctors are on board and disembark at Misrata.
