Ferry delayed due to assistance for yacht
On May 26, 2024, the 'Manxman' was delayed en route to Heysham, after it diverted to assist a yacht in distress. The ferry was tasked by Holyhead Coastguard to standby the yacht which had lost power and had a injured person aboard. It diverted to the boat and was on the scene within ten minutes of the call. Its rescue boat teams prepared for launch in case of need. The Holyhead Coastguard stood the 'Manxman' down to resume her scheduled sailing as another vessel was on scene and able to assist. Fleetwood and Barrow lifeboats wer ealso en route. The 'Manxman' was making best speed and aiming to be alongside in Heysham at 12 p.m., just 15 minutes behind schedule. Worker injured during mooring manoever
A worker has been injured during the mooring manoever of the 'Manxman' upon the scheduled arrival at Douglas upon the Isle of Man en route from Heysham on Feb 15, 2024, at 6 p.m. GMT. The man was taken to hospital for treatment.Isle of Man Steam Packet Company was investigating the incident and liaising with all relevant authorities. As a result of the incident, the scheduled departure at 7:45 p.m. and the departure on Feb 16 at 02:15 a.m. from Heysham were cancelled. Affected passengers were be offered alternative arrangements or a full refund.
