Sat Aug 13 18:12:46 CEST 2022 Timsen

The North Western Directorate of the Russian Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resources, presented a claim to the owner of the 'Malik', which sank in the area of the Kanonersky ship repair plant on May 16, and demanded a payment of more than one million rubles. The damage to the waters of the Gulf of Finland, due to the spill of diesel fuel was estimated at this amount. According to the Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resources, an emergency situation occurred, during the preparation of the vessel for docking at the Kanonersky shipyard, 150 liters of diesel fuel and shale waters leaked into the water area. Emergency services removed about one cubic metre of an oil water mixture containing 10 percent of petroleum products. At the time, the owner was fined 200,000 rubles, now the owner has to pay over one million rubles for the damage to the waters. In case of refusal to pay the compensation, the funds will be recovered in court.
