FRS cancelled all sailings for the day
FRS has cancelled the rotations of the 'Levante Jet' between Algeciras and the autonomous city on March 3, 2025, without specifying the reason for this, FRS has confirmed to the Port of Ceuta on Monday that the departures of its fast-ferry ‘Levante Jet’ have been cancelled for the remainder of the day and it was yet to be confirmed when it will resume its rotations. The suspension of th departures has begun with the first from Ceuta to Algeciras at 12:00 p.m. The shipping company has also cancelled the departure of the 'Levante Jet' at 3:30 p.m., 6:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., so the departures from Algeciras to Ceuta were affected too.
Ferry returned to port due to anxiety attack of passenger
The 'Levante Jet' bound for Algecira, turned around to Ceuta due to a passenger's anxiety attack on Sept 4 at around 3:30 p.m., The captain of the ferry made the decision as the passenger could not be controlled by the crew. Once in port, an ambulance was waiting for them, as well as members of the Civil Guard and the Port Police, all ready to take control the situation. The ship was later able to resume its journey, with the consequent delay in its rotations due to the incident.
Three migrants rescued off Algeciras
Salvamento Marítimo has rescued two distressed migrants, and the 'Levante Jet' has helped a third near the coast of Algeciras (Cádiz) on July 20, 2022. South of Punta Europa, the "Levante Jet" located a person who was attached to a lifebuoy and proceeded to help. It was a North African man, who at 8:49 a.m. was on board the ship for later transfer to Algeciras. Later, another ship warned of the presence of a person on board a paddle surf board, who was rescued by the SAR boat "Salvamar Denébola" at 9:56 am. An hour later, the same boat located another individual on a similar table and also proceeded to rescue him southeast of Punta Carnero. Both were mmen of North African origin. All of them were transferred to the port of Algeciras in apparent good health.
