Trawler adrift off Averøy
On Oct 4, 2016, at 2.10 p.m. the lifeboat "Erik Bye" was tasked to the "Langøysund" which was adrift off Averøy. The casualty was taken in tow to the Averøy Båt- og Oppdrettservice after having problems with the steering gear and having got a rope in the propeller. Divers were sent down for troubleshooting.
Eight passengers taken off after grounding
The "Langøysund", 135 gt, with eight tourists on board asked for help after it ran aground in the Bore Bight on Svalbard. The JRCC was notified on May 31, 2014, at 0:30 a.m. The "Polar Girl" came to the rescue. The eight passengers and two crew members were taken off. Five crew members remained on board the vessel and managed to refloat it at 2 a.m. It proceeded to Longyearbyen with own power.
