Ferry disabled and adrift off Korpo

On June 22, 2025, the 'L 198', en route from Korpo to Nagu, drifted about a hundred meters at sea after technical failure of the engine with about a hundred people on board in the Turku archipelago. The ferrym fully loaded with cars, began to drift sideways towards nearby fish ponds after it left the quay. The crew immediately announced that the ferry had suffered a black out but that there was no danger. The Western Finland Coast Guard came to the rescue immediately. A patrol had just left Nagu in a rubber dinghy. They were able to push the ferry so that it did not drift further into the fish farms.A larger boat also arrived quickly and took the ferry under tow back to Korpo, where it was sidelined for investigations.
